Enrolment

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on Findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Enrolment: Placement Policy | education.vic.gov.au to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

Once verified please visit the Brookside administration office and provide the following original documentation listed below in order to be given an enrolment form.

  • Proof of Birth: Birth Certificate or Passport and proof of guardianship
  • 100 Point Address Checklist
  • School Entry Immunisation History Statement from the (AIR) Australian Immunisation Register with the updated immunisations received. This can be obtained by using your Medicare online account through myGOV or Express Plus Medicare mobile app or your local Medicare or by calling the AIR enquiries on 1800 653 809
  • Visa Documentation

If your child is commencing Year 7 in 2025, the enrolment process is different and is processed through your child’s primary school known as Year 6 to 7 Transition

For all other year level enrolments for please complete the Expression of Interest form below and submit them to The Student Enrolment Officer, together with the following documentation.

  • Proof of Birth: Birth Certificate, Passport and proof of guardianship
  • 100 Point Address Checklist
  • School Entry Immunisation History Statement 
  • Any Court Orders
  • Visa Documentation

Once your child’s enrolment has been confirmed you will be given an Enrolment Form which needs to be returned with documents requested on the Enrolment Form. The type of information that you will be asked to provide to the College includes:

  • names and addresses of the child and parents, guardians and carers
  • parents’ phone numbers (home, work, mobile) and email addresses
  • names and contact details of emergency contacts
  • doctor’s name and phone numbers.
  • health and welfare information (for example, does your child have asthma, diabetes, allergies, poor eyesight or hearing, specific custody arrangements)
  • information about the language/s your child speaks and hears (to help the school build on your child’s knowledge).

If your family moves into Caroline Springs, please contact the College on 7379 1555 or email Brookside.p9@education.vic.gov.au to confirm if you reside within the designated neighbourhood area for Brookside College.

BYOD

BYOD Program – please rewrite to the following: “At Brookside College we use digital technologies to ensure our learners are future ready. To support this, students in Years 7, 8 & 9 have the opportunity to participate in a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program. Students will need to demonstrate commitment to being a responsible learner – this means using the device in strict accordance with the College’s Digital Learning Policy. The BYOD program provides an opportunity for our students to enter a new world of curriculum possibilities, allowing engagement and involvement in their learning.

College Tours

 

We are now offering school tours for prospective families who are interested in enrolling their child/children at Brookside College; with a particular interest for Prep and Year 7 in 2025.

This year we will be alternating each week’s school tour with a Primary or a Secondary focus.
School tours will run every Fridays from 9:15am – 10:00am beginning in Term 2.

      Prep 2025

      Brookside College are now accepting enrolments for Prep 2025. Expression of Interest Forms are available now from the College office.

      Children must be 5 years of age or older by 30 April of the year they start school. Please contact The Student Enrolment Officer on 7379 1555 to verify if you are residing within the Brookside College zone, alternatively, you can email the college on brookside.p9@education.vic.gov.au.

       

      The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

      The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Brookside College.

      The new timeline will apply for children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2025. All government primary schools will follow the new timeline in 2024 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2025 school year.

      You can now apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Brookside College.

       

      What you need to do:

      1. Contact our school on 7379 1555 to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process
      2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available Monday 15 April, 2024)
      3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.
      4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 23 August 2024. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 4 September 2024. 
      5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024
      6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from TBC.
      Prep Virtual Tour

      Year 7 2025

      Year 6 to 7 placement information packs: Guidance for parents and carers

      To assist parents and carers of students transitioning to a government school in Year 7 in 2025, the department will develop information packs with guidance to support effective placement, to your child’s primary school. You should receive them during the first few weeks of Term 2, 2024.
